PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS
In 2010 received the World Water Park Associations highest honor by being named the sole recipient of the Executive Board of Directors Commitment to Excellence Award during its 30th Anniversary Celebration.
In 2003, elected to the World Waterpark Association Board of Directors for a two-year term. Elected Treasurer in 2005. Re-elected to a second term and remain as treasurer until 2007.
Successfully negotiated a $3.35 million dollar pouring rights contract with Coca-Cola. The contract is for five years and the components are as follow: $160,000 cash, $240,000 for in-kind marketing and promotional support, $270,000 net revenue from the sale of product. These are annual figures. $670,000 per year for five years.
Successfully managed a surplus budget for twelve seasons at Magic Waters Waterpark. Magic Waters is the second largest municipal Waterpark in the United States.
In general election, voted in as Village Trustee, Village of Roscoe, Illinois.
Chairman of the Finance and Community Development Committee for the Village of Roscoe.
Chairman of the Budget and Expenditures Committee of the Rockford Park District.
Played a key role in employee focus groups to bring about tremendous change within the Rockford Park District. Further, was asked to be part of all strategic planning sessions that developed operational budgets and marketing plans short term and long term.
Responsible for staffing and supervising over 1000 employees annually (55 full-time, 945 part-time/seasonal). Maintain a $15 million annual budget.
Speaker at numerous national conferences to include: the World Waterpark Association, International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, National Recreation and Park Association’s National Aquatic Conference, and the Illinois Parks and Recreation Association.
Completed major expansion projects in excess of $2.5 million each on time and within budget.
Magic Waters Waterpark had a record daily attendance of 11,084, as well as a $4.5 million annual budget
